Sheffield Forgemasters has appointed Patrick Davison as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective June 2, 2025. Davison will join the company’s Board and work closely with CEO Gary Nutter and COO Gareth Barker.
Davison is a UK-qualified accountant (CIMA) with over 18 years of experience. His background includes executive roles in international businesses across engineering, manufacturing, and aerospace sectors.
Before joining Sheffield Forgemasters, Davison was group finance director at Masonite Europe. There, he managed a $40 million transformation programme. His appointment comes as Sheffield Forgemasters, owned by the Ministry of Defence (MoD), is recapitalising its defence-critical assets.
CEO Gary Nutter welcomed Davison to the team, saying, “We are pleased to have Patrick on the Board. As CFO, he will be vital in guiding the business into new markets. His role will support long-term success through strong financial decisions, upgrading facilities, and investing in our workforce.”
Nutter added that Davison impressed the Board during a thorough recruitment process. “He has a strong track record in handling complex transitions and managing operations in engineering and manufacturing.”
Davison joins Sheffield Forgemasters as the company focuses on increasing the supply of key UK Defence components, serving a global customer base, and undergoing a major investment programme to transform the business.
In his previous roles, Davison served as group finance director at Radius Aerospace Europe and divisional finance director at Doncaster’s Group UK Fabrications. He was also EMEA controller at Stanley Black & Decker Inc, where he led the acquisition and integration of CRC Evans into the group.
Davison said, “This is an exciting time to join one of the world’s leading engineering firms. I look forward to working with the Board to deliver dynamic change and drive the company’s future success.”
