Czech truck manufacturer Tatra Trucks is modernizing its operations by adopting Siemens Xcelerator software, aiming to increase production and better meet customer demands. The new system includes Teamcenter for product lifecycle management (PLM) and Mendix, a low-code development platform.
The move is part of Tatra’s broader digital transformation strategy to optimize manufacturing and support future growth.
A Competitive Edge Through Digitalization
Jakub Pončík, Tatra Trucks’ Technical Director, said the shift to Siemens’ software marks a major technological leap.
“Teamcenter gives us a strong advantage in the global market,” Pončík explained. “It helps us respond faster to customer needs, speed up order processing, and improve production flexibility.”
Siemens Software Enhances Efficiency
René Zahradník, Managing Director of Siemens Digital Industries Software in the Czech Republic, said the partnership will help Tatra streamline its digital processes.
“Teamcenter allows Tatra to use digital twins and AI for innovation,” Zahradník noted. “This ensures long-term competitiveness, and we’re excited to support their digital journey.”
The software consolidates all PLM processes into a single system, managing real-time customer requirements, project tracking, and quality control. It also improves material management, accelerates product development, and enhances communication between production and maintenance teams.
Additionally, the system supports Tatra’s sustainability goals by helping reduce its carbon footprint and comply with regulations.
