Samuel Taylor Ltd (STL), based in Redditch and a leading UK specialist in bi-metal bonding and precision stamping for the electrical contact market, plans to increase its sales across Europe by 20%. The company intends to achieve this by leveraging its long history of global trade.
In the coming months, STL representatives will visit several European Union countries, including France and Germany. They will attend major industry expos and meet with both new and existing customers. These customers come from sectors such as rail, automotive, defence, and mobile or off-grid power solutions.
For the second year in a row, STL will take part in The Battery Show Europe 2025, held in Stuttgart from June 3 to 5. This event focuses on advanced automotive battery technologies and manufacturing processes supported by government initiatives in the EU. STL will also attend the SIFER Expo in France from June 24 to 26. This expo is France’s only international rail event, bringing together suppliers, manufacturers, and top buyers in the rail industry.
Robert Gordon, managing director at STL, said, “We export 85% of our products outside the UK. Our bi-metal and precision stamped components reach more than 26 countries worldwide, including Europe, the USA, China, and the Middle East. Our customers trust us because we have strong engineering skills and an experienced, efficient logistics team.”
A Strong Tradition in International Sales
STL’s success in international sales was recognised by The Sunday Times. The company appeared in the International Track 100 league table, which ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies by their international sales. The minimum sales level for the ranking recently increased from £5 million to £25 million.
Mr Gordon added, “We are proud to return to represent the UK at The Battery Show Europe. After last year’s success, we look forward to new discussions. Europe makes up almost 40% of our business. We have many long-term customers and partners in the EU.”
He noted, “There is a lot of talk in the media about the UK becoming a more attractive manufacturing partner or a distribution hub for goods entering the EU because of lower tariffs compared to other countries.”
He concluded, “At STL, we have always valued openness to international trade. We pay close attention to local customs, work hard to build lasting partnerships, and have strong expertise in global logistics. These qualities have made us a trusted partner in bi-metal bonding and precision stamping for decades. We look forward to continuing these conversations at upcoming events and customer visits in the next few months.”
