New Programmes Announced for CWIEME Berlin 2025

by sthv

Final preparations are complete for CWIEME Berlin 2025, the world’s largest coil winding and electrical engineering event. The show opens today, June 3, at the Berlin Exhibition Centre and runs until June 5.

This year’s event will introduce several new programmes and expand on popular initiatives from last year. The ‘Women in Engineering’ programme returns, offering a platform for women in the industry to share insights, discuss challenges, and grow their professional networks.

Connect@CWIEME also makes a comeback in 2025. This data-driven connectivity event helped create 2,800 meaningful interactions between exhibitors and visitors during the 2024 show. It supports engineering, procurement, and R&D professionals in finding the right suppliers in the electrical engineering sector.

The well-liked ‘Future Engineers’ programme is back, too. It aims to address the industry’s talent shortage by providing special sessions on career development, networking, and skill-building. Guided tours and industry meet-ups will also be part of the programme, designed to motivate and support emerging engineers.

National pavilions will return as well, offering networking opportunities with key industry contacts from around the world. Notably, the Swiss pavilion will make its debut this year. It will showcase next-generation solutions focused on making modern energy infrastructure more efficient, sustainable, and resilient.

Focus on Zero Carbon Economy

This year’s central theme is building motors for a zero carbon economy. On June 3, a symposium will gather the entire motor value chain—from material suppliers to manufacturers and end users. The discussion will cover circular economy models, energy efficiency, and digitalization. Policymakers, regulatory experts, and researchers will also take part.

Research and academia are highlighted through the launch of the Academic Center of Excellence. This new area provides universities, research centres, and academic innovators a space to showcase their work, network, and promote career and internship opportunities.

Social Events and Networking

The event includes many social activities to help attendees connect. The opening community welcome party offers a relaxed evening with free drinks and food after the first day. Every day from 4 to 5 pm, visitors can enjoy happy hour in the beer garden to unwind, socialize, and sample a variety of food and drinks.

Two new clubs will debut this year. The C Suite Club will feature focused discussions on transformers, electric motors, and emerging technologies. Conversations will follow Chatham House Rules to encourage open and frank dialogue. The Transmission and Distribution Club will hold sessions on grid innovation, provide networking opportunities, and offer an exclusive lounge for transmission system operators, grid operators, and original equipment manufacturers.

CWIEME Berlin remains the world’s largest trade show for the coil winding and electrical engineering industries. With new programmes and expanded offerings, 2025 promises to be the biggest and best event yet.
