Global pumping solutions leader, Grundfos, has launched the CUE 120, a variable frequency drive (VFD) developed specifically for India. The new drive offers precise pump control with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency, addressing key concerns about energy waste and high operating costs.
Research indicates that approximately 70% of VFDs are used with default factory settings, which often do not meet the specific needs of different applications. This can lead to unnecessary energy consumption, increased costs, and missed opportunities for reducing carbon emissions. The CUE 120 is designed to overcome these challenges by delivering customised performance suited to Indian conditions, offering users better energy savings and improved system efficiency.
Usha Subramaniam, Country President for India at Grundfos, emphasized the significance of the CUE 120 at the product launch, saying, “The CUE 120 is more than just a product—it’s a reflection of our commitment to sustainability and innovation. Designed in India, for India, it enables industries, buildings, and communities to adopt more energy-efficient pumping solutions. This marks a key milestone as our first product developed locally, thanks to strong cross-functional collaboration.”
The CUE 120 is optimized for motors up to 22 kW and is compatible with all Grundfos pump ranges. The drive is engineered to maximize energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance reliability, helping industries, municipalities, and businesses across India operate in a more sustainable way.
Shankar Rajaram, Head of Sales, IND, INDO, added, “The CUE 120 was created with a clear vision—to provide an affordable, user-friendly solution that meets the specific needs of the Indian market. By conducting thorough market analysis, we developed a product that combines simplicity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, making sustainable pumping solutions more accessible.”
By improving the performance of existing systems, the CUE 120 helps users reduce energy consumption and lower their environmental impact. Grundfos also plans to expand the product’s power range in the future, offering greater flexibility to meet evolving demands.
As a global leader in addressing water and climate challenges, Grundfos is committed to enhancing the quality of life worldwide. The company provides energy- and water-efficient solutions across a variety of sectors, including water utilities, treatment facilities, industrial applications, and building systems.
