Crane and Machine Ltd, based in Glasgow, has been exclusively appointed by Lamprell Energy, a leading fabrication company in the UAE, to manage the sale of its automated pipe spool production facility in Hamtiyah, UAE.
The facility, originally installed in 2017 by the German company 3R at an investment of around $27 million, has never been fully operational due to various market factors. As a result, it is no longer needed for Lamprell’s ongoing operations. The plant features two independent production lines, each housed in its own building.
It is capable of producing up to 450,000 diameter inches (DI) of pipe spools annually, with one line dedicated to carbon steel pipes and the other for stainless steel and exotic material pipes. The facility handles pipe diameters ranging from 50mm to 400/500mm.
The production lines are equipped with high-quality European machinery, integrated with automated pipe storage and conveyor systems. These systems provide real-time data and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
The 3R integrated pipe processing systems are recognized for their speed and reliability, and are widely used in industries such as shipbuilding, oil and gas, and chemicals worldwide.
