ECHO Incorporated has unveiled a new division, ECHO Industrial Power Equipment (IPE), bringing its generators and welders under a single brand name. The move marks a shift in strategy, as the company consolidates its industrial power products—formerly sold under the Shindaiwa brand—into the ECHO lineup.
By rebranding these products, ECHO aims to expand its presence in industries that depend on mobile and reliable power. These include construction, mining, oil and gas, and telecommunications. The IPE line includes equipment with a proven track record, with over 800,000 units already in use worldwide. This history gives ECHO a strong base as it moves deeper into the industrial business-to-business market.
Wayne Thomsen, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at ECHO, said the equipment is designed for real-world use. It supports contractors and operators who rely on steady power in tough working conditions.
One of the key benefits of the rebrand is improved access to spare parts and inventory. ECHO plans to use its national dealer network to shorten delivery times and improve service—two priorities for industrial users.
Focus on Flexibility and Jobsite Performance
A standout feature of the IPE line is Simul-Phase technology. This allows the equipment to deliver single-phase and three-phase power at the same time, without needing extra transformers. It helps simplify power setups on busy job sites.
The equipment also includes sound-reducing enclosures, built-in overload protection, and fuel-efficient engines. These features help boost performance while cutting noise and downtime. For example, the DGK180F/P models run at just 65 decibels at full power, making them suitable for use in cities or areas with noise limits.
Fast maintenance and easy deployment make the equipment ideal for rental companies and fleet managers. The entire IPE range meets EPA Tier 4 Final standards, using Smart Emissions Technology to reduce environmental impact. This is becoming a bigger factor in both public and private projects.
