The Advanced Engineering event, a key gathering for the UK’s engineering and manufacturing sectors, is set to become the leading event for the composites industry, thanks to ongoing support from Composites UK. This partnership, alongside others, ensures the event remains at the forefront of innovation, offering attendees valuable insights and new features.
For 2025, Composites UK is increasing its involvement with a revamped Composites Forum. Curated entirely by the organization, the two-day event will focus on key topics such as sustainability, material circularity, and product development. The goal is to strengthen the resilience of the composites sector.
Dr. Sue Halliwell, Operations Manager at Composites UK, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with Advanced Engineering highlights the transformative potential of composite materials, encourages innovation, and fosters business connections, all of which contribute to the growth of the composite manufacturing sector.”
A major highlight of the event will be the Composites Networking Forum, sponsored by PRF Composites. This area has been redesigned for 2025, featuring live manufacturing line demonstrations and interactive technology. Visitors will have the opportunity to see cutting-edge equipment in action. One such demonstration will showcase PRF’s prepreg system, which has a rapid 4-minute processing time using the RP570 heated press. This includes the fire-retardant RP570 FR, which completes in just 5 minutes, and the RP570 FR combined with PRF’s recycled carbon prepreg nonwoven mat (REEPREG).
New Product Launches
Hannah Khusainova, Marketing Director at PRF Composite Materials, shared, “We have big plans for product launches and company developments this year, including the opening of our new Product Development and Innovation Centre. We’re excited to share our updates with the community at Advanced Engineering.”
Composites UK will also host its Industry Awards Dinner alongside the event. This will be held on the evening of October 29, coinciding with the opening day of Advanced Engineering at the nearby National Motorcycle Museum. The dinner will introduce the Composites Village, a new area designed to showcase startups and small businesses in the composites sector. This addition will provide emerging companies with the opportunity to gain visibility and connect with industry leaders.
Alan Harper Composites will also run hands-on sessions at the show, offering visitors a closer look at industry-changing techniques and materials.
