Dome Auctions, a new industrial machinery auction house operating across Europe, is set to host two exclusive equipment sales this month. The auctions will feature modern machines from aluminium and plastic profile producer Progin SA and precision toolmaker Big Kaiser. In total, around 40 premium CNC machines for metal, plastic, and aluminium processing will go under the hammer.
Big Kaiser Machines to Be Sold in Switzerland
On 15 May, Dome Auctions will hold a private, in-person sale at Big Kaiser’s facility in Rümlang, Switzerland. Big Kaiser, known for producing high-precision machining tools, recently shut down its manufacturing in Switzerland as part of a global restructuring.
The sale includes 29 modern CNC machines, all from leading brands. One key item is a 2023 Studer S33 universal cylindrical grinder. It features an MK4 grinding head with two motor spindles, allowing complex parts to be ground in one setup. With fewer than 2,700 operating hours, the machine is in near-new condition.
Another highlight is a 2022 Index G220 turning-milling centre, which includes a PROFimat bar feeder and an automated take-out system. This setup is ideal for unmanned production of complex components.
Also on offer is a 2019 DMG Mori CLX 350 CNC turning machine, equipped with a Breuning bar feeder, 43 Hainbuch collets, and 70 driven tools under the turret (VDI 30).
Other machines include:
- A 2017 DMG Mori NTX 1000, a multi-tasking machining centre
- A Mikron VCE 1200 P three-axis milling machine, with Renishaw probes and a StepTec spindle
- Several Studer grinding machines
- A Kellenberger Varia RS175/1000 (built in 2001)
- A Rosa Ermando SL 11.7 surface grinder (2012)
The Big Kaiser ticket sale will be held on-site at the company’s factory hall. All machines will be sold under the “sold is sold” condition.
Online Auction of Progin SA’s Machinery
The second sale features machines from Progin SA, a Swiss company formerly based in Bulle. The family-run firm specialized in aluminium profiles and sheet metal parts for building and facade systems. Despite recent investments, economic difficulties forced the company to close. This auction offers buyers the chance to acquire top-tier sheet metal equipment at competitive prices.
The Progin auction will be held online until 5 June.
Key items include a 2018 Bystronic BySprint Fiber 4020 laser cutting machine. It features a 4×2 meter cutting bed and a 4kW fiber laser unit, which performs comparably to a 6kW CO₂ laser. The system also includes automated loading and unloading, making it ideal for unmanned operations.
