When Paddington Construction stopped trading, BPI Auctions from Normanton was hired to handle the sale of its woodworking and metalworking machinery. The sale raised nearly £200,000.
Paddington Construction was known for making high-quality steel-framed bathroom pods for both commercial and private projects. Over 15 years, the company grew steadily and moved to a new facility in North London. This move helped them meet higher demand and offer clients a hands-on approach to off-site construction.
The company had followed BPI Auctions’ sales activities before and contacted them because of their strong reputation in construction and manufacturing equipment sales. Paddington Construction wanted a trusted partner to manage the entire sales process with minimal disruption. They chose BPI because of the company’s deep industry knowledge, clear communication, and proven ability to deliver results.
Two auctions were held to get the best value from the assets. The first auction focused on woodworking and joinery machines. It included high-end equipment such as a 2022 Weinig Cube Plus 4 head planer moulder, a 2019 Weinig Powermat 700 CNC planer moulder, and a 2023 Anderson Genesis Evo 510 CNC router. The second auction featured metalworking and fabrication machines. This sale included a 2023 Bodor P3015 fibre laser cutting machine, Durma CNC press brakes, guillotines, and MIG welding tools.
The auctions attracted more than 140 registered bidders from across the UK and beyond. Buyers included joineries, fit-out specialists, and fabrication firms. This showed the effectiveness of targeted marketing focused on the industry.
BPI Auctions provided a full range of services to ensure the sales ran smoothly and finished on time. Their work included valuing assets, creating catalogs, cleaning and preparing machines, hosting viewings, marketing the auctions, coordinating collections, moving machinery, and clearing the site. The entire process took seven weeks.
Adrian White of Paddington Construction said, “BPI’s service was very effective, quick, and easy to use. They achieved a fast turnaround.”
Nathan Burnham, Associate Director at BPI, added, “Paddington Construction had invested in modern, high-quality machines. The strong response to both auctions reflected that. We were glad to help complete two smooth and transparent sales. This allowed the business to close confidently while getting a high return on its assets.”
These sales show BPI’s ability to support clients in construction, joinery, and fabrication with flexible, end-to-end asset disposal solutions. Even in difficult times, BPI helps clients unlock value and simplify the process.
