The Divisional Railway Hospital has upgraded its healthcare capabilities with the installation of an Ethylene Oxide (ETO) Steriliser and an Advanced Laser machine for the physiotherapy unit. The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday, led by Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra and Jyotsna Bohra, President of the East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation.
The newly acquired ETO Steriliser significantly enhances the hospital’s sterilisation processes. Unlike conventional methods relying on high heat or moisture, the ETO sterilisation technique uses a chemical process to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and fungi at lower temperatures. This method is especially suitable for sterilising heat- or moisture-sensitive medical instruments, linens, plastics, rubber, and delicate medical devices, ensuring their safety and longevity.
The Advanced Laser Equipment, a cutting-edge addition to the physiotherapy unit, aims to improve patient care by delivering targeted pain relief and promoting faster tissue healing. It supports effective pain management, reduces inflammation, improves blood circulation, and stimulates cellular regeneration. These benefits collectively contribute to better rehabilitation outcomes for patients suffering from various musculoskeletal conditions.
Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra emphasized that integrating these advanced medical technologies will elevate the quality and safety of healthcare services provided to railway employees and their families.
The inauguration event was also attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. D. Sarath Babu, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infra) E. Santharam, along with other officers and hospital staff.
