Freemelt AB, a company based in Mölndal, Sweden, has received an order for a second Freemelt ONE Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-EB) Additive Manufacturing machine from North Carolina State University’s Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics (CAMAL) in Raleigh, USA.
This order follows a recent partnership that led to the creation of a joint Application Center.
The center is designed to assist industrial customers with development projects aimed at serial production using Freemelt’s industrial eMELT machine.
The new machine will be CAMAL’s second Freemelt ONE, after the first was delivered in 2023. The agreement also includes an option to upgrade to the eMELT machine by 2026.
This collaboration is seen as a key step in Freemelt’s efforts to expand its presence in the U.S. market. The new machine will be used for advanced materials research and the development of new critical materials.
