Battery X Metals (BATXF), a leading innovator in the energy transition sector, will reveal its latest lithium-ion battery rebalancing machine, Prototype 2.0, on May 30, 2025. The unveiling will take place during a live investor event, highlighting a major step forward in efforts to extend the lifespan of electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
The company is working closely with Factor E Motors to test the new technology on Nissan Leaf battery packs. The Nissan Leaf is one of the most common out-of-warranty electric vehicles in the U.S. Early trial results show promising performance, with the machine restoring 99.4% of lost capacity in LiFePO₄ cells. This technology has been validated by the National Research Council of Canada and shows strong potential for use across various EV platforms.
Battery X Metals and Factor E Motors are also developing specialized connector ports and standard procedures to enable wider application of the technology on different EV models. These efforts aim to address a key challenge in the EV industry: improving battery longevity to support sustainable mobility solutions.
This ongoing collaboration and successful testing mark important progress toward making EV battery life extension a commercial reality.
