Tata Power, India’s largest integrated energy company, has achieved major success in its rooftop solar business. In the financial year 2025 (FY25), the company completed 1.5 lakh rooftop solar installations. This raised its total rooftop solar capacity to 3 gigawatts (GW) spread across more than 700 cities. This milestone strengthens Tata Power’s leading position in the solar sector.

The company holds a strong 13.1% share of the rooftop engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) market. Its wide national presence and strong execution skills help Tata Power stand out in the solar industry. The rooftop solar division earned a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹209 crore in FY25. Out of this, ₹100 crore came in the last quarter (Q4FY25), showing strong profits and growing demand.

To ensure high quality and control over supply, Tata Power sources solar modules from its advanced TP Solar manufacturing plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The plant operates at over 90% capacity. In FY25, it produced 3,291 MW of solar modules and 846 MW of solar cells. The factory uses modern technologies such as TOPCon, Mono PERC, and bifacial designs. These technologies help produce efficient, DCR-compliant solar modules that deliver better energy output and performance.
