Exicom Unveils New DC Fast Charger to Boost EV Charging Efficiency and Reliability

by sthv

Indian technology company Exicom has launched its latest DC fast charger, the Harmony Direct 2.0, aiming to improve reliability, lower operational costs, and provide a smoother user experience for electric vehicle (EV) owners and operators.

Anant Nahata, Managing Director and CEO of Exicom, said the new charger addresses both global advancements and India’s specific EV needs. “Trust and reliability are essential for faster EV adoption in India,” he stated. “With Harmony Direct 2.0, we’ve raised the standard for infrastructure durability, operational efficiency, and user satisfaction. This charger reflects our commitment to India’s growing EV ecosystem.”

At the core of Harmony Direct 2.0 is Harmony OS — India’s first locally developed platform for managing EV chargers. The system automates interactions between the charger, the vehicle, and the cloud. According to Mr. Nahata, “Harmony OS oversees every part of the charging process. It manages charging sessions, balances power use, performs real-time diagnostics, and adjusts to changing conditions. This helps deliver smooth and reliable performance for users and operators alike.”

The new charger also includes advanced features like sensor-based diagnostics and Harmony Connect, an AI-powered tool that enables remote monitoring and control. This technology reduces downtime and improves the reliability of charging stations.

Anshuman Divyanshu, CEO of Exicom’s EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) Business, highlighted the practical benefits. “Harmony Direct 2.0 is designed for high efficiency and smart operation. It provides essential tools for charge point operators and fleet managers, helping them grow their networks with confidence.”

One of the charger’s key innovations is dynamic power distribution. It can spread power intelligently across multiple plugs, reducing energy waste and cutting costs. The system also includes Harmony Net, which allows multiple chargers to share power smartly. This makes it easier for operators to scale up their infrastructure as demand grows.

Harmony Direct 2.0 supports multi-stack charging, a feature that allows operators to set different charging strategies based on user types, times of day, or specific days of the week. The system then automatically adjusts priorities without manual input. “This gives operators the flexibility to run their networks more efficiently,” Mr. Nahata explained. “Charging becomes smarter and easier to manage.”

With the launch of Harmony Direct 2.0, Exicom aims to strengthen India’s EV charging infrastructure and support the country’s transition to cleaner mobility.
