Suzumo Machinery Co., Ltd. will unveil its latest sushi machine, the S-Cube, at the upcoming National Restaurant Association Show (NRA Show) in Chicago. The event, the largest restaurant and foodservice trade show in the United States, will take place from May 17 to May 20, 2025.
Suzumo, based in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, and led by CEO Toru Taniguchi, has been at the forefront of sushi machine development since it introduced the world’s first sushi robot in 1981. The company continues to lead the rice processing machine industry with innovative technology.
Suzumo International Corporation (SIC), the company’s U.S. subsidiary, manages sales and maintenance across the United States. SIC has participated in the NRA Show annually and has seen strong interest in Japanese cuisine. The company says demand for its products continues to grow in North America, especially as more restaurants explore Japanese dishes such as sushi and onigiri.
At the 2025 show, Suzumo plans to highlight the appeal of Japanese food culture. The company will showcase how its technology and SIC’s experience in the North American market can support the restaurant industry.
A key highlight of the exhibit will be the full-scale launch of the S-Cube, a compact sushi machine first released in Japan in 2024. The S-Cube can produce up to 1,200 Nigiri Sushi rice portions per hour. Due to its small size and efficiency, it is expected to be a good fit for businesses that are new to sushi preparation.
Suzumo says it will continue to focus on bringing value to consumers and businesses alike. The company’s vision is to deliver both “deliciousness” and “warmth” to people around the world through its food technology.
