Starrag will showcase its latest advancements in high-performance machine tools at the Manufacturing Solutions Ireland exhibition on June 11 and 12, held at the Technological University of Shannon (TUS). The company’s booth (Stand T7) will be part of the Technology Demo Zone, where the focus will be on the Bumotec s191neo.
The Bumotec s191neo, a key highlight of the show, will be delivered to a local customer right after the event. This exhibition is a significant event for the Irish manufacturing industry, and Starrag is excited to demonstrate the capabilities of the s191neo, which has already drawn attention among the company’s local customer base.
In addition to the s191neo, Starrag will unveil its latest turn/mill products, now available for viewing in the company’s new Bumotec virtual showroom. This online showroom mirrors Starrag’s Swiss facility and offers manufacturers a chance to explore a wide range of solutions, from the compact s128 simultaneous five-axis machine to the advanced 36-axis s1000/C transfer machine with eight machining stations. Other featured machines include the Bumotec s128, Ringma XX, s191V, s191H, s1000/C, S100multi, s181, s100mono, s200, and the SIP5000 and SIP7000 ultra-precision vertical boring and milling centers.
Bumotec s191neo: The Star of the Show
At Stand T7 in Limerick, the centerpiece will be the Bumotec s191neo. This advanced machine offers five-axis simultaneous machining, with capabilities extending up to seven axes and three spindles. It can accommodate up to 90 tools, along with a variety of peripheral equipment, making it ideal for precision small-part machining.
While the s191neo will steal the spotlight, Starrag is also known for its robust, larger machines catering to industries such as general manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, offshore, and power generation. Starrag engineers will be present at the event to discuss the advantages of the Heckert H Compact Series, a twin-pallet horizontal machining center that combines the benefits of a horizontal machine with a compact design.
The new Compact Heckert X series, equipped with a trunnion table for high-speed, rigid simultaneous five-axis machining, will also be on display. A high-speed table for turning can be added to the Heckert T series for added versatility.
Larger Machines in the Starrag Lineup
Larger Starrag machines will also be featured, including the STC1250 HD horizontal machining center. Part of the renowned STC Series, this machine is designed for machining demanding aerospace structural parts, multi-blades, and casings. It boasts excellent static and dynamic properties and a rotatable head for added flexibility. The STC1250 HD offers a 1.25m x 1.25m pallet, with a vast work envelope capable of handling workpieces up to 5,000kg. Its X, Y, and Z-axis travels span 2.2 x 1.5 x 2.1 meters, with a swing diameter of 2.2 meters.
For large components, Starrag will also present the Droop+Rein FOGS HD, a six-axis overhead gantry-type machining center. This machine comes in various sizes, with traverse paths ranging from 3 to 31m in the X-axis, 3 to 6m in the Y-axis, and 1.5 to 2.5m in the Z-axis. The Droop+Rein FOGS HD is a powerful machine, offering 50 to 100kW of power, fast dynamic movement, and a high-torque range from 2,400 to 7,500Nm, making it an efficient option for precision machining of large components.
Starrag’s participation in the event will showcase its range of innovative, solution-driven machine tools, underlining its commitment to advancing manufacturing technology in Ireland and beyond.
