The Sambhar police have arrested 33 individuals under the Gangs Act for their alleged involvement in a criminal network producing and selling fake generators made from stolen tractor engines.
The police say the gang had a systematic operation. They stole tractors, dismantled them, and repurposed the engines into counterfeit generators. These were then sold as products from reputed brands, leading to significant losses for legitimate manufacturers and deceiving consumers.
Superintendent of Police Krishna Vishnoi confirmed that the gang was first identified in October 2023, within the Nakasa police station jurisdiction. “We registered separate cases after recovering more than 100 stolen tractor parts used to assemble fake generators,” he said.
Vishnoi emphasized that the authorities were not only focusing on prosecuting the accused but also on dismantling the entire network. “All the accused are based in the Nakasar area, and we will also pursue actions to seize their assets gained through criminal activity,” he added.
So far, 10 suspects, including the gang’s leader Mohammad Zubair, have been arrested. Twenty-three other individuals remain at large. The arrested individuals include Mohammad Furkan, Asif, Ghyas, Shah Alam, Faizan, Naeem, Mohammad Urooj, Armaan, and Shahnawaz. The police are actively searching for the remaining suspects.
