Thanks to the direct integration of data from Volvo cars, there is no need for additional hardware installations. The system will gather key information such as mileage, fuel consumption, GPS location, electric vehicle data, and remote functions like locking and unlocking. All data use will follow strict privacy and safety standards.

Alberto Falcione, Vice President of Sales at Targa Telematics, explained the goal of the partnership:
“Our work with car manufacturers is focused on creating mobility services that rely on data from vehicles already equipped with OEM devices. This reduces the need for aftermarket installations. We aim to simplify and standardise complex data flows and make them accessible through our digital platforms.”

He added that data is carefully chosen to meet real customer needs. “This approach ensures efficient and cost-effective solutions. It also allows for faster deployment and improves operational processes for both customers and Targa Telematics,” Falcione said.

With over a decade of experience in leasing, rental, and insurance sectors, Targa Telematics has the know-how to turn raw vehicle data into valuable business insights.

In a separate development, Volvo Cars has also named Tata Technologies as a strategic engineering partner. The company will support Volvo Cars by providing product engineering, embedded software, and product lifecycle management (PLM) services.

Tata Technologies will deliver these services from its global offices located in Sweden, India, Romania, and Poland.
