Honda Unveils Four-Wheeled Electric Delivery Vehicle for Urban Use

by sthv

Honda is expanding its electric mobility portfolio with the introduction of a four-wheeled cargo vehicle designed for last-mile urban deliveries. Called the Fastport eQuad, the new model combines pedal power with electric assistance to carry larger payloads through city streets and even bike lanes—where regulations allow.

Unlike traditional delivery bikes, the eQuad is built to handle multiple large packages that can’t fit in standard cargo backpacks or on conventional e-bikes. It uses an electric motor to support pedaling up to speeds of 12 mph (20 km/h), powered by Honda’s Mobile Power Pack, a swappable battery system that offers up to 23 miles (37 km) of range when fully loaded.

That maximum range applies to the larger of two configurations, which can carry a payload of up to 650 lb (295 kg). The cargo box for this version measures 89 x 60 x 47.9 inches (238.9 x 152.5 x 121.6 cm). A smaller version, capable of hauling 320 lb (145 kg) in a 75 x 57.5 x 39.4-inch (190.5 x 146 x 97.5 cm) container, will offer a different range, still under testing.

The eQuad features a pedal-by-wire assist system, though Honda has not yet released detailed specifications. It also includes energy-saving technologies such as regenerative braking and an automatic parking brake to enhance efficiency.

Riders are partially sheltered by a transparent canopy, which helps block rain while leaving the sides open. In sunnier conditions, a UV coating, optional ceramic tint, and a built-in ventilation fan aim to improve comfort.

Prototype images show suspension on each wheel, a front headlight, and LED strip lighting. Digital renderings suggest the final model will add turn signals and a brake light for better visibility. A tablet-like screen mounted on the handlebars is expected to provide navigation, scheduling, and ride data.

The vehicle is being launched under a new sub-brand, Fastport, as part of Honda’s Fleet-as-a-Service strategy. The eQuad will make its global debut next week at Eurobike 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany. Honda aims to begin deliveries to clients in North America and Europe by the end of the year, with mass production scheduled for mid-2026.
