Toyota has announced details for its upcoming 2026 bZ Woodland SUV, a new electric vehicle designed for adventure and off-road capability. The midsize SUV comes standard with all-wheel drive and Toyota’s X-MODE system. It delivers a combined 375 horsepower and offers an estimated all-electric range of up to 260 miles.
Built for Off-Road and Utility
The bZ Woodland SUV features 8.3 inches of ground clearance and can tow up to 3,500 pounds, making it suitable for rough terrain and outdoor use. Toyota says the vehicle is available with all-terrain tires and comes equipped with roof rails for carrying gear.
It includes front and rear eAxles and allows drivers to select terrain modes through X-MODE. The Grip-Control feature helps maintain a steady speed on uneven surfaces. Toyota placed the battery low in the chassis to improve handling and stability on various road conditions.
Fast Charging and Battery Technology
The SUV is powered by a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery and supports fast charging through a North American Charging System (NACS) port. Under ideal conditions, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
Plug & Charge technology allows for quick and automatic charging at compatible stations. The bZ Woodland SUV also supports Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging and includes an 11-kW onboard charger. Drivers can adjust regenerative braking levels using paddles on the steering wheel.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on the bZ Woodland. It includes several key safety technologies such as Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Tracing Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Road Sign Assist.
Other features include a Panoramic View Monitor and Multi-Terrain Monitor for improved visibility. A Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert help during lane changes and reversing. Safe Exit Alert warns occupants if vehicles or cyclists are approaching when a door is opened.
Toyota’s Star Safety System adds further protections, including Vehicle Stability Control, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
The 2026 bZ Woodland SUV comes with a basic 36-month/36,000-mile warranty and a 60-month/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. EV-related components are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
The vehicle is also backed by ToyotaCare, which includes scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, and 24-hour roadside assistance for three years.
Toyota expects the bZ Woodland SUV to reach dealerships in early 2026.
