Andritz Schuler Unveils New Laser Technology for Cut-to-Length Lines

Andritz Schuler, a leading company in single presses and laser solutions, has introduced a new innovation in cut-to-length technology. The Laser Blanking Line 1.18 DFT offers significant advantages over traditional cut-to-length lines that use shears. It reduces the number of work steps and improves material usage. The system can also produce unique parts in addition to trapezoids and rectangular blanks. This ensures high operational efficiency and flexibility.

This laser blanking line is especially useful in steel service centers. It can cut additional shaped parts, cut-outs, and holes directly into the blanks in one step. This eliminates the need for extra steps to cut master blanks later. The system also saves a lot of material by using smart cross cuts. These cuts match the final blank shapes more closely. Depending on the shape, the system can produce up to 45 parts per minute.

Compact and Flexible Design

The Laser Blanking Line 1.18 DFT can process materials from 0.6 mm to 6 mm thick directly from the coil. It supports steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, including high-strength materials over 1,000 MPa. These strong materials often cause problems in mechanical die systems. The new line design removes the need for complex foundation work, cable trays in the floor, or a loop pit. The entire line is about 25 to 30 meters long. This makes it roughly half the size of a traditional cut-to-length line with a shear, giving it a smaller footprint.
