ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned the first 52.5 MW phase of its Sikar Solar Power Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. This marks the beginning of a larger 300 MW project, which will be developed in multiple phases.
With this milestone, ACME Solar’s total operational capacity has increased from 2,540 MW to 2,592.5 MW. The project is located in a high solar irradiation zone, which makes it ideal for solar energy production. When completed, the full 300 MW capacity will play a key role in supporting India’s renewable energy goals.
The project covers approximately 1,300 acres. It will transmit electricity to the Bikaner-II grid substation through a dedicated 220 kV transmission line. Power Finance Corporation (PFC) Limited is financing the project. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate about 780 million units of clean electricity every year.
Electricity from the plant will be sold through power exchanges on a merchant basis. The distribution will be managed to ensure commercial efficiency.
ACME Solar is a fully integrated renewable energy company. Its portfolio totals 6,970 MW and includes solar, wind, hybrid, and firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects. With the latest commissioning, 2,592.5 MW is now operational. The remaining 4,377.5 MW is under various stages of development.
The company manages all key functions—project development, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M)—through internal teams. This approach helps ACME maintain control over project timelines, costs, and quality.
ACME generates stable, long-term revenue by selling electricity to various buyers, including government-backed agencies. These deals are secured through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), usually signed for 25 years at fixed tariff rates.
By keeping EPC and O&M work in-house, the company gains flexibility in choosing technology and suppliers. This also improves cost-efficiency and process control.
