Peak Energy has announced the acquisition of 48 megawatts (MW) of ready-to-build (RTB) high-voltage solar projects across Japan.
The new sites are located in regions including Tokyo and Tohoku, with some designed to include battery energy storage systems.
The projects are expected to generate nearly 60 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity each year. This is enough to power around 15,000 households. In addition, the facilities are projected to reduce carbon emissions by about 27,000 tonnes annually—roughly equal to removing 9,000 cars from the road.
Peak Energy plans to bring the solar plants online between 2026 and 2027. The electricity produced will be sold to corporate customers through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).
This acquisition follows a recent deal by Peak Energy to secure another 11 MW of RTB high-voltage solar sites. The company also co-owns a 28 MW solar plant in Kyushu and continues to offer a variety of energy solutions to corporate users across Japan.
