Last month, Citizen Machinery UK Ltd hosted a special event at its headquarters in Bushey to introduce the third generation of its Cincom L20-LFV series sliding-head lathes. These new machines are significantly more productive and environmentally friendly than the previous models.
At the event, three of the four available variants were displayed in operation. Instead of using demonstration parts, the machines produced typical components that customers would make, which impressed the attendees. A second-generation L20 model was also shown for comparison.
The event was smaller than the usual Open House, with about 60 visitors from 30 customer companies attending. Despite the smaller scale, four orders were placed, totaling approximately £700,000. This contributed to a very successful month for Citizen Machinery. Several other deals are still being discussed, helped by special offers on both new and existing models showcased during the event.
Unlike the usual three-day Open Houses where many suppliers participate, this launch featured only one supplier company, Cobots Online. They demonstrated collaborative robot (cobot) automation on a Miyano BNA-42SY5 fixed-head lathe.
Citizen Machinery’s full Open House will take place from October 7 to 9 at their turning centre of excellence in Brierley Hill. It will include the launch of a new fixed-head lathe, the Miyano BNX-51MSY2LFV, which was previewed in prototype form at the Bushey event in April, along with other new models yet to be revealed.
