Senvion India has officially confirmed its order with Continuum Green Energy for wind turbines. Earlier, in September 2024, the two companies signed a conditional agreement for 550 confirmed turbines and 50 optional ones. Now, the entire order has been fully committed.
The confirmed order includes 100 turbines with a total capacity of 420 megawatts (MW).
Senvion India will start delivering the turbines in April 2026. The turbines will be installed at project sites chosen by Senvion and developed by Continuum Green Energy.
The turbines ordered are the 4.2M160 model, which is Senvion’s most advanced onshore wind turbine to date. This turbine was developed through a partnership between India and Germany. It is designed to work reliably under different wind conditions.
Each turbine features a rotor that is 160 meters long and a flexible hub height. This design allows for high power generation and a modular structure, which makes deployment faster and maintenance easier.
More than 85% of the turbine components will be made in India. This will support the local supply chain and create jobs.

These turbines are specially designed for India’s wind and environmental conditions. We aim to increase our wind turbine capacity to 2 gigawatts by 2026. We plan to install these turbines widely across India, which will create jobs and strengthen the country’s energy security.”
